Collaboration
The collaboration between Dijanne and I is a robust beast. It challenges us both. It satisfies us both.
Collaboration in art is a dynamic process that transcends individual creativity, allowing us to merge our unique perspectives and techniques. Our partnership manifests in various forms, including joint exhibitions, co-created works, or interdisciplinary projects that blend our different art approaches.
We challenge each other's ideas and explore new territories. We have found that this leads to innovative outcomes that might not have emerged within our own practice. The act of sharing skills and knowledge has stimulated fresh concepts and pushed our artistic boundaries.
Moreover, our collaboration has encouraged us to connect with others to foster a broad sense of community and belonging within Gippsland. Embarking on ‘road trips’ and connecting with others is our form of networking, learning what others do and how they operate.
However, collaboration is not without its challenges. Differing visions, work styles, and communication preferences can sometimes lead to tension. But we feel that by establishing clear goals, respecting each other and maintaining open dialogue helps us to reach beyond the line and create a coherent way forward. Besides it is kind of fun too and definitely enriching for us both.
